HANDWEAVER . DYER . TEACHER

I have been weaving since 1973, specializing in original textiles for clothing and home interiors. My love of color has led me to explore dyeing and its unlimited possibilities. Everywhere in nature I see texture, pattern and color that inspires me to capture this beauty through my art and workshops. I invite you to visit my gallery and welcome your comments and inquiries.

Collaboration:
Irene Munroe and Susan Kurcbart.

Rayon fabric was hand-dyed.  Garment construction was bias cut and machine stitched using a commercial pattern.  Skeins of 6-ply rayon were hand-dyed and woven in tabby weave structure.  Susan Kurcbart created the polymer clay cabochon and beaded necklace.  The necklace was completed first and became the inspiration for the dress and shawl.

Mama's Sheets

Mama's Sheets

Queen-size quilt was made from hand-dyed old cotton sheets that once belonged to my mother-in-law, Mary Poore Munroe.  Machine stitched Seminole Patchwork designs into vertical columns and added a border of squares on all four sides.  Hand quilted background fabric with variegated thread.  Black background is commercial cotton fabric.  82" x 78".
